Reta R. Hake

In Memorial

On Saturday, March 21, 2009, Reta R. Hake, 79, of Conestoga, surrounded by her loving family passed peacefully and went home to be with the Lord.

She was born on February 23, 1930 in Talmage, PA to the late Spencer A. and Ruth G. Rupp.

On August 1, 1953 she married Gerald C. “Joe” Hake and they reared their three children: Jerry A., husband of Kathy G. Hake of Lancaster; Bonnie S., wife of David Saganich of Conestoga; and Robbin L., wife of Stephen Natur of Millersville. She is also survived by brothers Eugene Rupp of New Holland and Glenn Rupp of Lititz, two grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Gerald and sister Phyllis Kann.

Reta graduated from West Earl Township High School in 1946 and Upper Leacock Township High School in 1948. Her last employment was in the Admitting Office at Lancaster General Hospital to which she served over 25 years. She loved playing pinochle, working in the Admissions Office, flower gardening, going to flea markets, socializing with family and friends, and being with her daughter’s dog, Summer Mae.

A Celebration Service will be held on Tuesday, March 24, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at Faith Calvary Church, 1501 Millersville Pike, Lancaster, PA with Glenn Rupp and Rev. Douglas Sandman officiating. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Interment in Conestoga Memorial Park, Lancaster, PA. If desired, contributions in her memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 314 Good Drive, Lancaster, PA 17603.
