Lancaster

Jaime A. Holbut-Lazcano, 38, of Lancaster, PA, passed away unexpectedly on May 19, 2025, in a vehicle accident. Born in Valparaiso, Chile, he was the beloved Husband of Jessica Louise Holbut and the loving father of Eleonora Myriam Holbut. He was the son of Jaime Manuel Holbut Aravena and Myriam Mercedes Lazcano Zamora.

Jaime was very passionate about God and Music. On April 26th, 2008, he was invited to play the guitar for a crowd of 10,000 people in the Quinta Vergara with two famous South American bands: Inti-illimani and Los Jaivas. Because of his talent, Jaime was hired in 2010 to teach at Colegio Saint Dominic before he graduated from the university. Throughout his career, he cultivated and inspired many students to become musicians. These students and bands went on to win awards for their school. On April 26th, 2013, Jaime graduated from the University of Playa Ancha in Valparaiso, Chile with his bachelor’s degree in music education, where he continued his career.

In 2013, a new teacher, Jessica, was hired from the United States to teach English. During a school choir practice, when students were trying to learn a song in English, Jaime met Jessica, who later became his future wife. The students around observed and kept at heart the love that flourished between Jaime and Jessica. This first meeting changed the course of life for both of them. During this time, Jaime had an encounter with Jesus that changed his entire life again, and he decided to stop pursuing music to pursue the heart of God.

Jaime's love and passion for God led him to move to the United States in 2016. Shortly thereafter, he married his wife Jessica, and began to serve God in various roles within the community. Jaime had a burden in his heart for people from all walks of life. If there was a need, Jaime's hands met that need with love and diligence. His heartbeat was to nurture and establish others in the Lord. He was a dedicated Bible study teacher and friend. He continued to teach the youth how to foster their gifts in music, but this time unto the Lord. His life in the U.S. and Chile was marked by great talent, passion, and a profound solidarity with others. His hands were always finding a way to work for the Lord and love others. His feet often carried him to places far out of his way to be a blessing to someone else. His fingerprints are left on the heart of many lives. He cultivated not just musicians, but ministers in the Lord.
