Sandra E. Madara (née Maddox), 79, of Lancaster, passed into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Sunday, June 22, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late James S. Madara, to whom she was married for 56 years. Born in Lancaster, PA, she was the daughter of the late John and Edna (Bushman) Maddox.

Sandy was a graduate of McCaskey High School in 1964 and attended nursing school at Elizabethtown College. She worked happily as a nurse at Willow Valley, where she was dedicated to caring for the elderly. She has been actively involved with her church, Lord's House of Prayer in Lancaster, for many years.

In her spare time, Sandy was devoted to her faith and to giving back to the community. She also loved gardening, watching birds, and all the activities that involved water and swimming. Most of all, however, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her adoring grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Sandy is survived by her children, Brian J. Madara (husband of Cynthia), Jeffrey J. Madara (husband of Heather), and Kathleen H. Auker (wife of Sean); eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Also surviving is her brother-in-law, Jeffrey S. Madara (husband of Michelle).

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life Service on a date and time to be announced, at the Lord's House of Prayer, 133 E. Vine St., Lancaster, PA 17602. The viewing and interment will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to: Lord's House of Prayer at: https://lhop.com/giving, or to Water Street Mission at wsm.org.
