Elaine M. (Strohecker) Miller, 95, of Elizabethtown, PA, joined God’s angel choir on Saturday, October 21, 2023, at Evergreen Hospice Care Center in Masonic Village. Born in Trevorton, Pennsylvania, on July 22, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Lillie C (Mench) and Joel R. Strohecker. Elaine was the loving wife of the late Samuel L Miller, with whom she spent 67 years of marriage until his passing on April 30, 2013. She is survived by daughters; Lucinda, married to Franklin Zimmerman, Lancaster, PA; Susan, married to Gilbert Hulshizer, Stevens, PA; seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson; two sisters, Nancy, wife of Edward Minnich; Evelyn, wife of Robert Adams; a brother, Mark, husband of Darlene; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Monica Moyer; two sisters, June, and her husband Donald Matter; Ruth, and her husband Donald Minnich; and a brother, Junior, and his wife Lynn.
Elaine attended Williamstown High School, Williamstown, Pennsylvania. She was employed as a sewing machine operator for numerous clothing companies in Lykens, Wiconisco, and Blue Ball, Pennsylvania, from 1944 until her retirement in 1976.
Beginning in 1978 and through subsequent years, changes in her husband’s employment took Sam and Elaine from Terre Hill, Pennsylvania to Douglas, Wyoming; Kingsville, Texas, and Green River, Wyoming. Each location allowed them to make the most of the outdoors they loved so much through time spent hunting, fishing and camping. 1993 brought them back to Pennsylvania and then on to Florida, where they enjoyed seventeen years of retirement in the warm sunshine. In 2011 they returned to Pennsylvania residing at Masonic Village of Elizabethtown.
Elaine loved country and spiritual music and was a member of Christ’s church wherever she lived. She loved serving the Lord and worked tirelessly in the church to help spread His word. Family, friends and strangers will remember Elaine by her favorite quotes; “Jesus loves you and so do I,” and “Have a blessed day.”
Friends and family are respectfully invited to attend a memorial service Saturday, December 2, 2023, in the Sell Chapel at Masonic Village. The family will be available for a brief greeting from 10:00am – 10:45am until the start of the service at 11:00am.
A private committal service in the columbarium of the Sell Chapel will be held for the family immediately following the service.

Dear Cindy & family, Suzie & family, Randy, Tammy; Aunt Elaine was such a positive and kind aunt. She was so wonderful when we visited. I always loved when she would reminisce about Grammy and Pappy Strohecker; and when she would talk about some of her travels and the hunting and fishing stories. She truly will be missed here but, more importantly she is celebrating in her heavenly home with her Lord and Savior. Sending our most heartfelt sympathy and praying for continued strength and blessings for all of you.
