In August 2022, Darla joined DeBord - Snyder Funeral Home as a part time Funeral Associate. She enjoys assisting the Funeral Director, meeting clients, and assisting families who are in need of funeral services.

Darla was born and raised in Mount Union, PA. She was educated and graduated from Captain Jack High School in Mount Union and Goldy Beacom College in Wilmington, DE. She and her husband, Jim Rockwell, moved to Lancaster immediately following their marriage in 1964 when Jim took a job with Armstrong.

Darla and Jim have raised a family now consisting in 2025 of 3 children, 6 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren living across 5 states in the US.

During a 41 year span, 1963 to 2004, Darla held 3 separate positions working for medical doctors in the Wilmington and Lancaster areas as a Medical Assistant, Medical Secretary, and Office Manager. In 2004, she left that life work to start her own business as a Retail Gift Shop Owner in Lititz, PA which she successfully ran for 12 years before taking full retirement.

Darla and her husband, Jim, are very active in the life of their Church, Salem UCC of Rohrerstown. They both donate large amounts of time to Church Committee work and Church Property Management.
