Kimberly and Abigail,

I am sorry to learn of your loss and I know this is not an easy time for you. I had been visiting Vance as part of our pastoral care and support ministry for the past several years, and he was aware at times of our presence. It was my pleasure to bring the love of God to him. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

What a wonderful man Vance was! I met him in the 70’s when we worked at Armstrong together.
He was a very talented and kind man, who always had time for his friends.

I was new to the area, and he was unfailingly generous with his ideas and suggestions.

The one thing that was constant in his life, was his love for his daughter, Abigail.

He will be missed.

Condolence from ARLENE STEWART on December 21st, 2015 2:33 pm

VANCE WAS A CARING AND WONDERFUL PERSON WITH A GREAT SENSE OF HUMOR. BOTH MY HUSBAND AND I WORKED WITH HIM FOR MANY YEARS AT ARMSTRONG. HE ALWAYS HELPED TO DEFLECT ANY STRESSFUL SITUATION AND MAKE IT EASIER FOR EVERYONE INVOLVED. HE WAS ALSO A GREAT TRAVEL COMPANION WHEN WE NEEDED TO GO SOMEWHERE FOR BUSINESS. HIS PERSPECTIVE ON ALL SITUATIONS WOULD MAKE EVERYTHING SEEM BETTER, WE ARE VERY SADDENED FOR YOUR LOSS.

OUR CONDOLENCES TO EVERYONE IN HIS FAMILY

Condolence from Julie Reed on February 10th, 2016 2:18 pm

I’m so sorry to hear about Vance! We worked together at Armstrong more than 20 years ago, but lost touch when I moved to Kansas City in 1988. Vance was one of my favorite people I met back then – he was very helpful and knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor as well.

My heartfelt sympathies to his family,
Julie Reed

Condolence from Jim Boone on February 10th, 2016 4:30 pm

I am sad to hear the news of Vance’s passing. Vance and I worked together at Armstrong back in the 70s and 80s. After I left Lancaster in 1986 he and I reconnected for a time through Color Marketing Group. We kept in touch up until the time he became ill.

I truly enjoyed knowing and working with Vance. He was a kind and gentle man with a sharp wit about him. I know how much he loved his daughter. He often spoke of her in our conversations. I will keep all of you in his family in my prayers. He was a great friend and will be missed by everyone.

You all have my deepest sympathies.

Jim Boone
