Stanton Breneman LeFever

In Memorial

Stanton Breneman LeFever, of Lancaster, passed away Friday, April 24, 2009 at Lancaster General Hospital. He was 89. Born in Lancaster, PA, he was the son of the late Roy Breneman LeFever and Norma Henwood LeFever Toth. Stanton was the husband of Mary DeLong and Nancy Wilkerson Hess, both deceased.

A member of the J.P. McCaskey H.S. class of 1938, he was graduated from William-son Free School of Mechanical Trades, Media, PA as a Mechanist. He received the Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Lehigh University. Stan worked for Western Electric, Air Products, General Electric, and Stanley Works before retiring from E.I. DuPont in 1985. He continued to do consulting work for many years.

He served as an Army Air Corps Navigator- Bombardier during WWII.

In recent years, Stan has been the master-of-ceremony at his McCaskey H.S. class reunions. An avid bridge player, he will be missed by his many friends for his kindness, generosity and sense of humor.

He was the loving father of Dr. Ronald S. LeFever, of Lansdale, PA, and brother to Betty LeFever (wife of the late Rev. William) Gibson, of Lancaster, and Nancy LeFever (wife of the late Rev. Ormond) Hampton, of Ft. Meyers, FL. Mr. LeFever will also be sadly missed by his three grandchildren: Dr. Nicole C. LeFever, Rockledge, FL; Denise R. LeFever, Jacksonville, FL; and Daniel R. LeFever, Satellite Beach, FL.

Respecting the simplicity with which he lived his life, Graveside Services at the First Presbyterian Church Memorial Garden, 140 E. Orange St., Lancaster, PA will be at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to Hospice of Lancaster Co., 685 Good Dr., P.O. Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604; to St. Ann’s Home, 3952 Columbia Ave., Columbia, PA 17512; or to the First Presbyterian Church of Lancaster, 140 E. Orange St., Lancaster, PA 17602.
