Samuel “Vision” Bonano, 38, of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, passed away on the morning of January 3rd, 2022, at his home. He was the loving husband of Tanya Marie Bonano.

He was born in Brooklyn, New York to Wilma Ivette Medina and Carlos Luis Bonano. He attended Manheim Township High School before being homeschooled and got his GED through the Christian Homeschool Association of Pennsylvania.

Despite his visual impairment, Samuel lived a fulfilling life. He enjoyed riding his bicycle, playing basketball, and wrestling during his youth. He loved watching wrestling and would go to pay-per-views when he could. His favorite sports teams were the Giants and the Yankees. As a child, he would let his sister Amy put headbands on him and call him “Samuelo”.

He loved playing video games and would often beat others in fighting games such as Street Fighter as well as wrestling video games. He loved to sing. He also had a passion for rapping and making music. He was a lyrical genius. He loved to laugh and crack jokes to make others laugh with him. If he was a fictional character, he would be Ernie from Sesame Street.

He loved watching tv. His favorite tv shows were the Simpsons, Hey Arnold, Family Matters, and South Park. He could tell what episode of the Simpsons you were watching just by playing a quick clip of it and could also mimic the voices of the characters in South Park. He loved watching wrestling from his childhood into adulthood. He enjoyed listening to podcasts of action heroes and watching Bruce Lee movies.

He worked at the Blind Association and was an honor worker which led to his picture being placed on billboards and advertisements for the company.

His and his wife’s motto was “Let’s do stuff!” and they loved to dress up before going out together. He loved playing kickball with his daughter, Maya whom he considered the light of his life.

He is preceded in death by his son Jayen L. Bonano, his first wife Ruth A. Bonano, and his father Carlos Luis Bonano. He is survived by his second wife Tanya Marie Bonano, their daughter Maya Rae Bonano and Deanna Ashley Bucks, and his son Devin James Bucks. He is also survived by his mother Wilma Ivette Medina, his brother Carlos E. Bonano, his sister Amy Evette Bonano, his brother Jeremiah L. Bonano, his younger brother Abraham Bonano, and his younger sister Crystal Yvette Miranda along with a host nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a funeral service in the place of 141 E. Orange Street, Lancaster, PA 17602 on Monday January 10th, 2022 at 11:00am with Pastor Joel officiating. Friends may greet the family from 10:00am until the time of the service.

I didn’t know Sammy long, but I had the pleasure of getting to know him and his family when I cared for his daughter Maya as an infant at World of Learning Academy in Lancaster. He was an amazing father to her, and a very kind, caring, and hilarious person to be around. Sammy would drop Maya off and spend an hour just hanging out chatting with myself and my co-workers about almost everything. Sometimes we couldn’t get rid of him :). When the day care closed down we lost touch with Sammy and his family, but we never forgot them. I send my deepest and sincerest condolences to Sammy’s family, words cannot describe how deeply sorry I am for your loss. He will be greatly missed by so many. Rest In Peace sweet Sammy.

So very sorry for your family’s loss…. Anyone that came in contact with Sammy learned something from him…
Memories from meodow green. Teaching him to swim….sitting in the park outside the pool talking…
After years of not seeing him, to run into him and his daughter at the McDonald’s playground, he got to meet Coty’s kids. And to enjoy watching my grandkids play with his daughter brought joy to both of us…. The next generation!!!

Rest easy my friend…
I will always remember your hugs..
Ms. Peggy( I told you that you could just call me Peggy, you said no. It was your way to show respect for me…)

I remember when I first met Sammy he was friendly kind and a great guy. I guess that’s why we became such close friends pretty quickly. I remember hanging out after work or just talking on the phone about music wrestling or just life in general. I’m going to miss the times that we had may have it not been many it was still memorable. I am going to miss you my friend my brother may you rest in peace
