Robert G. Kleinstuber

Robert G. Kleinstuber, 88, of Lancaster, passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at his home.  He was the husband of the late Fern E. (Kissinger) Kleinstuber who passed away in 1998. Formerly, he was married to the late June (Ferry) Kleinstuber until their divorce in 1959.

Born in Port Jervis, NY he was the son of the late John E. and Ethel (Hoare) Kleinstuber.

He proudly served his nation in the United States Navy during the Second World War.  He spent most of his career as a switching equipment technician for Bell Telephone.

Bob was an avid storyteller who could entertain for hours with his numerous anecdotes.  In his younger days, he enjoyed riding motorcycles. Later in life, his interests turned toward collecting coins, watching old movies, working in his garden, and collecting rifles and handguns.  He was a competitive target shooter, winning many awards for his superlative marksmanship.   A devoted animal lover, he contributed much towards their care and humane treatment.  He was very mechanically inclined and enjoyed fixing things around his home.

He was a proud member of the Red Rose Pistol League and the Southern Lancaster County Farmer Sportsmen’s Association.

Surviving are his three daughters, Lynn Fleming (wife of Horace “Lee”) and Gale Chevalier (wife of Mark) – both born of June Kleinstuber, and Ellen Kleinstuber – born of Fern Kleinstuber; grandchildren, Brian (husband of Sherissa), Michelle, Donovan (husband of Tricia), Lindsay (wife of Brandon), and Mallory; and great-grandchildren, Shyanne, Connor, Jasmyn, Devon, Ava, and Brom.   Also Surviving are a step-daughter, Deborah Massion (wife of Harold) and three step-sons, Stephen, Douglas, and Kenneth Whiskeyman, Jr.

Bob was a good man and a patriot. I will fondly remember his company shared at the many pistol matches over the last 35 years.

The Country lost a true American with his passing.
