Dexter was like a big brother and cousin to me when we were younger. My mother and his Mother Arlene are step sisters. I always looked up to Dexter and he introduced me to cassette tapes instead of 8 Track tapes! I was glad I ran into Dexter about 2 years ago at Sheetz on the Oregon Pike. My condolences to his family.RIP Dexter

When I first moved to Lancaster, I was a complete outsider, so I appreciated anyone who welcomed me into the community… And Dexter did that from the moment I met him. He was an amazing listener — the kind of person who made you feel like you were the most important person in the room.

Dexter was one of my dearest and best friends in high school. And although I had not seen him for years, I will always remember him for his gentle good humor, his boundless amiability and the many good times that were always just a little more fun because Dex was along. My thoughts and condolences go out to his family.

Condolence from Lynn Long on July 23rd, 2012 1:39 pm

So many years since high school and yet how clear those early memories. Dexter’s wonderful smile and playful humor brought joy and laughter to my life, for sure. I only regret that our paths did not cross since I returned to Lancaster after so many years elsewhere. I send my thoughts and sympathy to all his loved ones.
