    Dick was a very special person and father and grandfather and brother. He was always kind, caring, always had a smile for me when I saw him, and loved his family so much. He is a church friend as well to so many people. My sincere sympathies to your entire family. Janie

    I remember meeting your Dad when he and Karen visited a quilt show in Vermont and an old friend of your Dad’s in Maine. They stopped to visit me and we had a lovely lunch together in Old Orchard Beach, Maine. I am so sorry for your loss.

    Dear Rick, Ellie, Charles,
    grandchildren and friends,

    We are thinking about you
    as you move through time
    of loss. We pray that your
    faith will sustain you, and
    that God and our Holy Spirit
    will comfort you. We share
    a meditation upon which to
    reflect. Peace be with you.

    WALKING WITH GRIEF

    Do not hurry
    As your walk with grief;
    It does not help the journey.

    Walk slowly,
    Pausing often:
    Do not hurry
    As you walk with grief

    Be not disturbed
    By memories that come unbidden.
    Swiftly forgive;
    And let Christ speak for you
    Unspoken words.
    Unfinished conversation
    Will be resolved in Him.
    Be not disturbed.

    Be gentle with the one
    Who walks with grief.
    If it is you,
    Be gentle with yourself.
    Swiftly forgive;
    Walk slowly,
    Pausing often.

    Take time, be gentle
    As you walk with grief.

    COME NOW
    Come now
    Live in us.
    Let us stay in You,
    Since if we be all in You,
    We cannot be far from one another,
    Though some may be in heaven
    And some upon earth.
