Richard B. "Dick" Imhoff, Sr.

In Memorial

Richard B. “Dick” Imhoff, Sr., 63, of Lancaster, passed away peacefully into the arms of the Lord surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer on Tuesday, June 22, 2010 at home. He was the loving husband of Carol M. Wanger Imhoff, his beloved wife of 42 years. Born in Lancaster on December 31, 1946, he was the son of the late Charles B. and Margaret Ream Imhoff.

Dick was a 1964 graduate of Lampeter-Strasburg High School. During the Vietnam War, he enlisted in the US Army in 1964, serving as a radar specialist and sharp shooter. He was a carpenter by trade, and this was his passion. He was meticulous and skilled in his work and was a dedicated employee of Warfel Construction for the past 6 years. He spent much time using his incredible skills not only building his own home at a young age, but remodeling his sons homes with skill and precision. Dick also enjoyed hunting at his cabin with his sons and close cousin, Robert Martin, and vacationing at the shore.

He is survived, in addition to his wife, by a brother, Charles S., husband of Marie Imhoff; three sons, Richard B. Jr., husband of Anita Imhoff, James C. Imhoff, and Shane M., husband of Jennifer Imhoff; 6 grandchildren, Joseph Hanna, Tyla Zimmerman, Hayley Benyo, Jake Benyo, Lacey Imhoff, and Ashlyn Imhoff.

Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral service on Wednesday, June 30th at Kearney A. Snyder Funeral Home, 141 E. Orange St., Lancaster at 10:30 a.m. Friends may call at the Kearney A. Snyder Funeral Home on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Interment with full military honors will be at Conestoga Memorial Park.

The family extends deepest gratitude to the staff of Hospice of Lancaster County for the compassionate care they provided to Dick and his family, as well as to the countless friends and family who gave us their love, prayers, and support.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Lancaster County, 685 Good Dr., P.O. Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604-4125.

Offer Condolence for the family of Richard B. "Dick" Imhoff, Sr.
