To all: very sorry to lose Bob! Life isn’t fair and we in some way are cheated without his presence. Yet he is in the hands of our God even as he always was in life! Sincere condolences to all the Salzman cousins and family!

To the entire Salzman family. Our deepest condolences and Christ’s love is sent to you from a pair of high school friends. My wife Pat and I attended McCaskey High School with Bob and a number of the reunions except the 55 reunion. I remember the first reunion when I saw Bob and I started to share some of the times we shared together when we both worked at the Lancaster General Hospital in the kitchen. Our paths separated after high school when I joined the Navy. To our surprise our vocations went into very different directions. He became a minister and I became a State Trooper. We were both shocked when we learned what each had chosen for a profession. In 1979 I made a profession of faith in the Lord and in the summer of 1981 started taking course at Lancaster Bible College and graduating in 1985. It was the same year that I went to Kimberly Canada to visit with Bob and Linda and to preach a memorial service for the police officers that gave their lives in the line of duty. I was licensed to preach in 1985 and in 1994 I became the Pastor of Trinity Evangelical Congregational Church in Lancaster. Bob touched our lives as did the family. Patti I am sorry that we did not get to join you for the 55 class reunion because I know it would have been a time of sharing joyful experiences. May the Lord Bless each one of the Salzman family as He has promised never to forsake nor leave you. We apologize for not being there but we will be out of town by the time you read this note.

Condolence from Ernest Waldin on January 26th, 2016 8:20 am

Bob and I met at the Lancaster School of the Bible in 1964. We hit it off talking about the things of our Lord. Before long we were getting deeper into theology. My wife, Elaine, and I watched as his and Linda’s family grew. It was a blessing to have known Bob, and I just wish I had seen him again before his home going. Our prayers and love go out to the family.

Condolence from Cindy Godfrey on January 26th, 2016 3:07 pm

My heart hurt when I got the news. Didn’t know him long but was happy to have him as a part of Son Light Bible Church. He baptized 8 of our members just 2 weeks ago. I told him he did a good job but I want my brother to baptize me. Bob said “you don’t want me?”. I told him I wanted him there in case Pastor Mike didn’t bring me up right away. We had a good laugh. So sorry, Patti. He will really be missed. Prayers of comfort sent to you and your family.

Patti: my father, mother, Ron and I were so saddened to hear of Bob’s passing. You two were a match made in heaven, and I (Laurie) know how fulfilled you were when you were able to minister with Bob by his side. We are thinking of you and praying for you. My parents are unable to attend the viewing or service, but they send their love. We love you!

I am sorry for the loss of your dear Bob. Death is such a tragedy for all of us, and when it touches us personally, sometimes it’s difficult to find the comfort that we search for. Our loving Heavenly Father Jehovah, the “God of all comfort,” feels such great empathy for those that have lost a loved one in death, and so he promises to “swallow up death forever,” and eliminate all pain and suffering. As you read the texts below, I believe that you will find the comfort, hope and peace that you will need to carry you through till these promises are fulfilled. All the best wishes for your family at this time.
