Pearl R. Graybeal, 104, passed into the arms of her Savior, on Wednesday August 15, 2018 at Brethren Village Retirement Center, Lititz, PA.
Born November 15, 1913, she was the daughter of Arthur Garfield Graybeal and Maggie Mercer Graybeal.
Born in Creston, North Carolina, she was a resident of Lancaster County since 1932.

She was a charter member of Hempfield United Methodist Church. For several years, she was employed as a seamstress at Logan’s Department Store and The Hager Store in Lancaster, PA.

She enjoyed reading, crocheting, sewing and visiting with her many family members. She continued crocheting well after her 100th birthday, making lap blankets for the Ronald McDonald House. She offered a piece for a Hospice Auction and was amazed and very pleased that it brought $124.00.

After that, she taught herself to crochet hats. A lady of strong will, a soft heart and much wisdom, she was loved by all and will be sorely missed.

She is survived by a son, Thomas (Carol Graybeal) of Carroll Plantation, Maine; her daughter, Carol Wilson (James Wilson) of Lancaster, PA; a daughter-in-law, Nancy Graybeal of Lancaster, PA, 11 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren as well as a sister, Kate of South Carolina.

Condolences for the family of “Pearl R. Graybeal”

Condolence from Kathy P Weinhold on August 18th, 2018 12:04 pm

I had several chances to meet “grandma” at Graybeal outings. She would always participate in the conversation and you could tell, was in her glory being with her family.
To my friend TJ and her shista’s and brother and your parents, I share your sorrow at this time of loss. She was a beautiful force in all your lives and will continue to be a very happy memory in years to come.
She is well, happy and beautiful again, walking with her Lord.

Dear Aunt Pearl, One of my steadiest friends through the many years……..Sally thought as much for her as I did !!! Aunt Pearl and I shared a birthday, though not the same year. My thinking was the longer that lady
“hangs in there” the more positive it is for me !! That’s foolish of course, but she certainly knew how to live a long life, a good life and a fruitful life…….I am sure she has quietly affected a lot of us and others who came in contact with her and went away with a feeling of quiet strength!! That’s the way she lived her life and raised their children………………You can’t forget a lady you share a birthday with and a life style
so few of us can follow as well as she did !! With the greatest of respect; nephew Earl Ronald Graybeal
