Paul H. Rohrer

In Memorial

Paul H. Rohrer, 88, dairy and beef farmer of Manor Township, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 27, 2011 at Hospice of Lancaster County on Good Drive.

Born June 10, 1922 in Lancaster Township, he was the son of the late Elmer B. and Rebecca Herr Rohrer.  He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Edith M. (Good) Rohrer.

Mr. Rohrer was a member of Mellinger Mennonite Church.  He valued his faith, and his family along with a deep love of agriculture. He was faithful to the church and served as Treasurer and on the Board of Trustees. Paul was involved with Windom Manor Farms until 2005.

In later years, he enjoyed traveling with friends and family. Special memories include Canadian Rockies, Switzerland, and more than 30 years attending Summer Retreats at Spruce Lake.

In addition to his wife, Paul will be lovingly missed by his daughter, Marilyn Martin (Robert, deceased) of Strasburg; by sons, Kenneth husband of Carolyn (Denlinger) Rohrer, and Richard husband of Audrey (Yunginger) Rohrer both of Manor Township; ten grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren; and two brothers, Elmer H. husband of Ruth Rohrer of Lititz, and Robert H. husband of Lorraine Rohrer of Washington Boro. He was preceded in death by sisters Kathryn Herr and Ruth Siegrist.

The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff at Lancaster General Hospital, the Lancaster Rehabilitation Hospital and Hospice of Lancaster County for their compassionate care shown to Paul during the last weeks of his life.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the Worship Service celebrating Paul’s Life at Mellinger Mennonite Church, 1916 Lincoln Highway East, Lancaster, PA on Friday, April 1, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. with the Rev. Joe Miller and the Rev. Leon Oberholtzer officiating. Friends may call at the Mellinger Mennonite Church on Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. and on Friday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service.  Interment will take place prior to the Visitation and Memorial Service in the Millersville Mennonite Cemetery, 435 Manor Avenue, Millersville, on Friday morning at 9:00 A.M. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mr. Rohrer’s memory may be made to the Mellinger Mennonite Church, 1916 Lincoln Highway East, Lancaster, PA  17602.  Arrangements by the Richard A.
