Patricia W. Reed

Patricia W. Reed, 80, of Lititz, passed away on Wednesday, November 14, 2018 from complications recovering from heart surgery. She was the loving wife of Donald C. Reed, with whom she shared 60 years.

Born in Sunbury, PA she was the daughter of the late Claude and Charlotte Walker Wilson. She attended Northumberland High School and graduated from Tri- Valley High School in 1956. After high school, she attended Millersville University, married, and raised her two children. In addition to being a homemaker, Pat worked for several years for Wenger Chiropractic Clinic.

Pat was an active member of Grandview United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday School, was a member of Women’s Christian Society, participated in the bell choir, sang in the women’s Madrigal Group, and was involved with the Grandview Prayer Shawl/ Lap Robe Ministry. She was a member of the Men’s Garden Club of Lancaster, and also the Women’s Garden Club of Lancaster County, was a Girl Scout Leader, and volunteered at the Manheim Township Public Library. Pat enjoyed playing the piano, was an avid reader, attending concerts, plays, gardening and decorating, and arranging flowers.

Surviving besides her husband are two children; a son, Chuck Reed, husband of Pam, and daughter, Pam Yunginger, wife of Mike, 5 grandchildren, Shannon and Brittany Reed, Chelsea Blosenski, wife of AJ, Adam and Amy Yunginger, a brother, Donald “Pat”Wilson, husband of Marty, a sister-in-law, Alice Reed Miller, wife of Dennis.

Pat especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and will be missed greatly at family gatherings.

Friends and relatives are respectfully invited to attend a Celebration of Life Service on Friday, November 23, 2018 at Grandview United Methodist Church, 888 Pleasure Rd. Lancaster, PA 17601 at 10:30 AM. Friends may greet the family from 9:30 AM until the time of service. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Manheim Township Public Library, 595 Granite Run Dr., Lancaster, PA 17601 or Hospice & Community Care, 685 Good Drive, P.O. Box 4125, Lancaster, PA  17604-4125.

    Wishing our friends, the Reed Famiy heartfelt expression of sympathy at the loss of Pat. She, along with Don and earlier in life, Chuck and Pam have been a big part of many memorable, happy times. We will miss her warmth, kindness, love and compassion.
