Wade Schaeffer

Wade Schaeffer, 82, of Lancaster, ended his courageous battle with cancer on October 11, 2010 at Hospice of Lancaster County, Mount Joy.  Born in Port Washington, NY, he was the son of Oliver and Nell Schaeffer.  He was the husband of the late Suzanne Wahl Schaeffer who passed away in 1996.  He is survived by: a daughter, Diane wife of Brian Ressler of Mountville; a son, Dave Schaeffer of Lancaster; 2

grandchildren, Kendra and Michael Ressler; a brother, John Schaeffer of Sarasota, FL. He retired from Armstrong World Industries in 1988 as a research chemist after 30 years. In retirement, he worked for Nissley Winery. He served in the U. S. Navy during WWII. He was an avid bridge player and was a St. Louis Cardinals fan. A memorial service will be held from St. James Episcopal Church, Lancaster, on Thursday, Oct. 14, 2010 at 2 PM. The family will visit with friends from 1:30 to 2:00 PM at the church.
