“Jean” Zercher, 93 of Lancaster, passed on Saturday, August 26
th
, 2023 at Lancaster General Hospital. She was the loving wife of the late Eugene L. Zercher.
Born in Mountville, Pa. she was the daughter of the late Elwood and Kathryn (Nissley) Gainer.
She was a graduate of Columbia High School and spent her career as a bookkeeper and office manager.
She was an adventurous cook, loved the challenge of crossword puzzles and was an avid Philadelphia sports fan. She was a proud supporter and donor to all things relating to animal rights.
She was a true example of the love and the strength of a woman.
She is survived by her children Cheryl Adamire (Jim), Kevin Zercher, Michele Stauffer (Mike) and Tina Zercher Steele. Also surviving are six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a granddaughter, Jena Adamire, a grandson, Phyonix Zercher Steele, and a great-grandson, Chad Neiss II.
A graveside service will be held at Conestoga Memorial Park for family and friends at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, Contributions in her memory may be made to, Hospice & Community Care, PO Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604, Humane League of Lancaster,
