Susan T. Kabrhel, 81, of Millersville, passed away on Wednesday, September 2, 2026, at Penn Medicine Lancaster General Hospital. She was the loving wife of the late Joseph F. Kabrhel, with whom she shared 44 years of marriage before his passing in 2012.

Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Loretta Linton. Susan dedicated her professional life to public education, first as a fourth and fifth grade teacher and later as a special education teacher. Following her retirement and move to Millersville, she became an active member of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Lancaster, where she developed a deep interest in environmental justice.

Susan also volunteered for many years as a "cuddler" in the NICU at Women & Babies Hospital in Lancaster, providing comfort and care to newborns and their families. She treasured time spent with her close circle of friends, attending shows and symphony performances in Lancaster or gathering for meals at the clubhouse near her home. Neighbors could often find Susan enjoying her daily walks through the community.

Family was at the center of Susan's life, and she cherished every opportunity to spend time with those she loved. She is survived by her two sons, Stephen T. Kabrhel and his wife, Jessica Luty-Kabrhel, of Sykesville, Maryland, and James E. Kabrhel and his wife, Amy Kabrhel, of Manitowoc, Wisconsin.

As a devoted "Nanny" to her three grandchildren, Nathan, Joshua, and Milo, she was always ready with a warm hug, a homemade scone, a serving of "Nanny Casserole," or a trip to the dairy. She was also deeply devoted to her extended family and remained especially close to her siblings and their families. Susan enjoyed hosting the traditional Family Gathering, bringing together her brother, John and his wife, Patty, her sister, Linda, and generations of family members.

Memorial services to be announced at later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to one of the causes Susan supported, including The Nature Conservancy, Planned Parenthood, the American Cancer Society, or the American Heart Association.
