Shirley H. Portner, 92 of Garden Spot Village, New Holland PA. formerly of Lancaster PA. went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, September 27, 2023.
She was the loving wife of her late husband, William E. Portner, with whom she shared 53 years of marriage.
Born in Lancaster she was the daughter of Edwin L. and Mary Hoffheinz Hill. Shirley was a graduate of J.P. McCaskey, class of 1949. Shirley worked at RCA Corp. in Marketing for 25 years, retiring in 1987. She then continued working part time for Lancaster General Hospital in the collections department for 7 years.
Shirley enjoyed rooting for the Philadelphia Phillies, taking family vacations to Ocean City NJ and Sarasota FL. Her dog, Gretchen, was her furry pal. She was a member of Leola Methodist Church for 50 years and participated with the Super Seniors.
She will lovingly be missed by her only child, William Jr., married to Cynthia Kofroth Portner, Ephrata PA., her two dearly loved grandsons, Craig W. (Stephanie) and Kyle W. (Erica) both Brownstown PA, and seven great grandchildren, Sabine, Scarlett, GiGi, Cole, Ian, Nick, and Bryce.
The graveside service will be held for the immediate family at a later date.
A special “Thank You”, goes out to Garden Spot Village and Hospice of Lancaster County for their excellent care !
