Ruth M. Hepler passed away on October 13, 2022. She was born and raised in Lavelle PA to Clarence William McHale and Marie Victoria (Burkholder) on August 25, 1928.
She had 2 siblings: Marcia Wolfe, Danville PA and James McHale, Greenville SC (both deceased).
She graduated from Ashland High School, Ashland PA in 1946 and entered nurses training at Geisinger Memorial Hospital in Danville PA where she graduated in 1949. Later on, she obtained her BSN degree at Millersville University in 1985.
She spent her nursing career at Lancaster General Hospital, 1950-1991, then continued working part time at Lancaster General Hospital Campus from 1991-2011.
During those last 20 she also worked 5 years as a “greeter” in Lancaster General Hospital’s Emergency Room for a total of 62 years in Nursing.
Nursing was her “FORTE”.
