Ruby K. Hess, 85, of Ephrata, passed away Thursday, February 11, 2010 at Ephrata Community Hospital. Born in Rockingham, VA, she was the daughter of the late Charles T. and Zetta Shiflett Kyger. She was the wife of Robert N. Hess. She worked as an inspector for Federal Mogul, and retired after 33 years of service.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by: a son Roger husband of Nancy Howard of East Petersburg; a daughter, Brenda Hess of Ephrata; a daughter-in-law, Barbara Howard of Lancaster; 5 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Howard, a grandson, and 5 brothers and sisters.
A memorial service will be held from the Hempfield United Methodist Church, 3050 Marietta Ave., Lancaster, PA on Tuesday, February 16th at 11 AM. There will be no viewing, however; the family will visit with friends from 10 to 11 AM at the church on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to the East Petersburg Fire Company, 6076 Pine St., East Petersburg, PA 17520.
