Robert Oettel

Robert Oettel, 94, passed away on December 8, 2020. He was the loving husband of the late Christine F.  Oettel. Born on September 3, 1926 in Lancaster, PA, he was the son of the late Ernest and Lillian (Rice) Oettel.

Robert served his country by, at the age of just 17, joining the U. S. Navy during WWII as a gunner’s mate.

Robert was an outdoorsman with a passion for hunting.  Robert was a laboratory technician for Armstrong R&D.

Robert is survived by 3 daughters, Patricia Oettel of Thomasville, PA, Jo Saxinger of Auburn, PA and Debra Razzak of Lancaster, PA and a son, Robert Oettel of Mountville, PA; 7 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.  Also surviving is a sister, Ann Martin of Columbia, PA.   In addition to his wife, he is predeceased by five brothers and sisters.

Due to COVID restrictions a private Graveside Service will be held at Conestoga Memorial Park.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Willow Tree Hospice, 616 E. Cyprus Street, Kennett Square, PA  19348.
