Peggy A. Schneebeli

Peggy A. Schneebeli, 93, of Lancaster, passed away on Sunday, September 14, 2025 at Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health. Born in Lancaster, PA, she was the daughter of the late J. Russel Moedinger and Susan E. (Paules) Moedinger.

Peggy graduated from J.P. McCaskey High School followed by Stephens College in Columbia, MO and also attended the University of Maryland.

Her professional career included the American Red Cross, followed by the Commonwealth National Bank which was renamed Mellon Bank and is now known as Citizens Bank.

She was a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church in Lancaster where she was a member of the Wesleyan Sunday School Class, served on the Finance Committee, Altar Guild, Weekly Contributions Counter, Stephen Ministry, Memorials and Attendance Data Input Committee.

Peggy was also a member of Junior League of Lancaster and Lancaster General Health Foundation 1893 Society.

She volunteered for 60 years at Lancaster General Hospital and also dedicated her time as a volunteer with M.J. Brecht Elementary School as a Teacher’s Aide and with Lancaster SPCA.

Peggy is survived by nephews, David A. Horning, Jr., Paul R. Horning and Andrew B. Horning. Also surviving are grandchildren, Amanda Wade and Andrew Curp and four great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a daughter, Karen Curp, a son, Richard J. Schneebeli and by a sister, Susan Horning.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a graveside service at Woodward Hill Cemetery, 501 S Queen St, Lancaster, PA 17603 on Thursday, September 25, 2025 at 11:00 AM.
