Nancy Jean Henry

Nancy J. Henry, beloved wife, mother and grandmother joined her husband Richard S. in heaven on December 14th, 2023. She is survived by her sons, Brian (Deb) and Jeff (Jody) as well as her favorite and only grandchild, Emily. She was predeceased her husband of 44 years, Richard S. Henry, her parents, Robert and Anna Mary Gehr, and her sister Pat Griel.

Nancy loved spending time with her nieces, Tracy, Lynda, and Debbie along with their families. After Dick’s passing in 2006, Nancy moved to Woodcrest Villa where she enjoyed laughing with friends, puzzles, arts and crafts and attending church services. She moved to the Mennonite Home in 2020 where she received wonderful care by the nurses and staff.

Born in Millersville on March 13, 1937, then moving to Lancaster in 1962, Nancy worked as a secretary at an insurance company, then enjoyed being a stay-at-home mom until the boys attended school. She then worked at Hollinger’s and Stauffer’s, enjoying the friendships that came from the many regular customers.

She kept every newspaper article ever written on her boys and their academic and athletic achievements throughout high school and college.

Dick and Nancy enjoyed traveling, visiting 48 of the 50 states on bus trips with friends. Nancy enjoyed her annual trips to Ocean City, MD and visits to the Poconos, especially during the fall foliage.

Friends and relatives are respectfully invited to her visitation, on Thursday, January 4, 2024 from 10 am until her funeral service at 11 am. at the Gamber Auditorium at Woodcrest Villa 2001 Harrisburg Pike, Lancaster PA. Interment will follow the service at Millersville Mennonite Cemetery.
