Michael J. Phillips

June 7, 1953 – October 28, 2022

Michael J. Phillips of Lititz went home to be with the Lord on Friday, October 28, 2022. He took his final ride on the motorcycle he loved so much. One of his greatest passions was riding, telling his wife how it soothed his soul.

Michael loved everyone he met unconditionally and made sure you knew it by his kind words and actions. He was a member of the Lancaster County recovery community for over 14 years, helping many men and women build a sober life. He was a great example of living one day at a time with Jesus by his side. Michael enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He lit up while having heartfelt conversations with them.

Michael leaves behind a broken-hearted community of family and friends. Our lives are better since being touched by such a kind and loving man. Gone but never forgotten!

Michael is survived by his wife, Philomena Pepe Phillips, his sons, Raven Barton-Peters (Alayna), and Richard T. LaRocca (Kristine). Grandchildren, John P. LaRocca, Christopher M. LaRocca, Kenyon Barton-Peters and Sloane E. LaRocca. His father, James Phillips, and siblings Mark Phillips (Nancy), Timothy Phillips (Linda), Jamelyn Turano (James), Richard Straubel (Amy), Scott Straubel  (Christine), Mark Straubel (Coleen), Jennifer Nasuti, Bernadette Burgess, Bruno Pepe (Patty), Peg Andrews (Don), Ruth Dudley, and Phillip Pepe. He will be missed by several nieces and nephews that he loved dearly. Preceded in death by his mother, Ruth Davidson Phillips and brother, Jeffrey Phillips.
