Matilda “Pat” H. Reitzel

Matilda “Pat” H. Reitzel, 99, a resident of St. John’s Herr Estate, Columbia, died Tuesday, November 30, 2010 at Hospice of L a n c a s t e r County. She was the wife of the late William “Bill” J. Reitzel who died in 2001. Born March 18, 1911 in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Emily Hausmann. Matilda retired from Schick in 1976 where she had been employed as an inspector for 20 years. She attended Faith United Methodist Church in Lititz. Her interests included dancing, travel and volunteering at the American Red Cross for more than 20 years. Other organizations that benefited from her time included the YWCA, the Blind Association, where she ran the retail store, and the Multiple Sclerosis Society where she was a director and a volunteer. Matilda also enjoyed visiting shut-ins from her church. Surviving are two daughters, Doris R. Finklestein of Washington Twp., NJ, and Charlotte R. Garfield of Lancaster; a son, Quintin H. husband of Angela C. Reitzel of Virginia Beach, VA; 11 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 9 great great grandchildren. A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, December 4, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. at Conestoga Memorial Park, 95 Second Lock Road, Lancaster, PA with the Rev. Bruce L. Lefever officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to Hospice of Lancaster County, 685 Good Drive, P.O.
