Mary Ann Outman, 95, of Lancaster, PA, left us quietly on October 14, 2025 to reunite with her husband, Rea, who passed away in March of this year.
Mary Ann is survived by her daughter, Jody Mansfield of Lancaster and her son, Bill Outman and his fiancée, Giselle Notarianni, of Bristow, VA. She is also survived by two of the greatest blessings in her life, her grandchildren Connor Rea Outman and Catherine Joan Outman. She was predeceased by her son in law Clay Mansfield and her daughter in law Patty Silvia Outman.
Born on September 16, 1930 in Harrisburg, PA to the late John Morris, Jr and Marguerite (Conrad) Morris, she graduated from John Harris High School in Harrisburg and the nursing program at Harrisburg Polyclinic Hospital. During her tenure there as a registered nurse, she touched the lives of many patients and was involved in setting up and working in the first cardiac catheterization laboratory. Also while working at Polyclinic Hospital, she caught the attention of a pharmacist who would become her husband and life partner for 67 years.
Together, they moved to Westfield, PA where Rea joined the family pharmacy business, ultimately taking it over with Mary Ann. Together, they served the community for over 40 years.
Mary Ann was especially fond of the local youth who worked in the business, several of whom commented in later years about the positive effects of her strong work ethic and mentorship.
Nothing made her smile quite like seeing those young people bring their own children in to visit her. Throughout her life, Mary Ann always had a soft spot in her heart for infants and children. Mary Ann and Rea retired to Madison, CT where they lived until moving to Lancaster in 2014. In retirement, Mary Ann enjoyed shopping, gardening, crafting and traveling. Her favorite destination, where she and Rea made many happy memories with family, was Block Island, RI.
The family would like to recognize and share special thanks with the caring staff and providers at Willow Valley as well as those at Caring Hospice.
Following their wishes, the family will hold a private joint memorial for Mary Ann and Rea at a later date. To share memories and condolences, please visit: www.DeBordSnyder.com
