Margaret E. Thome, 92, of Homestead Village, formerly of Miami, Fl, died Wednesday, January 21, 2009 at home. Born in Jamaica, NY, she was the daughter of the late James M. and Elise Unzner Minugh. She was the wife of the late Louis F. Thome who died in 1968.
She worked for New York Life Insurance doing office work, and then as a housewife until 1968. She then worked for the former First State Bank of Miami, Miami, FL until she retired. She had worked in both bookkeeping and customer service.
She was of the Episcopal faith all her life, and had attended the services at the chapel at Homestead Village. Earlier in her life, Margaret enjoyed swimming, fishing and reading. She enjoyed walking, and visiting sick people in the health center, the outdoors, animals, and flowers.
She is survived by her niece, Thelma McLaughlin of Lancaster.
A memorial services will be held from the Chapel at Homestead Village, 1800 Village Circle, Lancaster, PA 17603 on Saturday, January 31, 2009 at 10 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Homestead Village, 1800 Village Circle Lancaster, PA 17603. Arrangements by the Richard A. Sheetz Funeral Home.
