Margaret Elizabeth Carlson, 89, formerly of Washington and Lancaster, PA, passed away peacefully at Masonic Village of Elizabethtown, on February 7, 2026. 

Peggy, as she was known, was born on June 11, 1936, daughter of the late Morlan Edward Crossley and the late Sarah Martha Crossley Mulholland.

A graduate of Donora High School, Peggy went on and received her degree from Waynesburg University, graduating Magna Cum Laude. Peggy volunteered in many organizations and was a long-standing member of Eastern Star.

Peggy was dearly loved by all and will be remembered for her kindness and compassion. Peggy’s true joy came from spending time with family and friends and was very active in the lives of her children, grand-children, and step grand-children. Peggy enjoyed watching sports with family and attending family sporting events and working crossword puzzles.

On August 25, 1955, she married the late Theodore Carl Carlson. Peggy is survived by one son, Theodore Eric (Carolyn) Carlson of Lancaster, 4 grand-children, Natalie Carlson and Trent (Jenna) Carlson, both of Washington, Jonathon Carlson of York, PA, and Sarah (Jason) Gordner of Elizabethtown, two step grand-children, Amy (Curtis) Price, and Adam Cross both of Washington: and 6 great grand-children, Layton Wright, Harper and Henley Carlson, all of Washington, Lincoln Carlson of York, Camden and Colton Gordner of Elizabethtown, and 5 step great-grandchildren, Jaxon, Lucas, Starr, Sky, and Cooper Price all of Washington, deceased are a son Edward John (Rose) Carlson, and a brother Wayne Crossley.

A celebration of life ceremony will be held at a later date.
