Margaret Leaman Berkheimer, 97, of Lancaster, passed away on December 15, 2023 at Mennonite Home. She was the widow of the late Russell M. Berkheimer, Jr., the love of her life.
Born in Lancaster, PA, she was the daughter of the late B. Eugene Leaman and Myrtle I. (Pleam) Leaman. She is also preceded in death by her brother, Richard Pleam Leaman.
After graduating from J.P. McCaskey High School, Margaret spent much of her career as an office manager for Dr. H.K. Cooper, Sr. and at the office of the Lancaster Cleft Palate Clinic. She was also the secretary and Office Manager for Dr. Jospeh L. Eckenrode for 13 years.
Margaret was Past President of the United Methodist Women (UMW) and a Stephen Minister at First United Methodist Church, where she was a lifelong member.
In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing, needlework, watercolor painting, rose gardening and spending time with her adoring family. She was also known for baking fabulous pies.
Margaret is survived by her children, Stephanie Drobnock (wife of George) of Mount Union, PA, and Melanie Hady (wife of Michael) of York, PA. Also surviving are grandchildren, Jillian Senner, Meredith Mangels and Christopher Drobnock, as well as great-grandchildren Theodore, Nora and Amelia Senner and Emmett and Otto Mangels.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a funeral service at DeBord Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 141 E. Orange St., Lancaster, PA 17602 on Thursday, December 21, 2023 at 1:00 PM.
