Marcia Tsikalas

Marcia "Marcy" Jane (Raymond) Tsikalas went home to be with our Lord on September 16, 2026.

Marcy is survived by her loving daughters Kelly (Matt) Knouse and Gigi (the late Andy) Richardson and her beloved grandchildren Abbi and Ben Knouse and Alexa and Stephanie Richardson, as well as many cherished nephews and nieces.

Marcy was born on September 23, 1937, in Homer City, PA and grew up in Johnstown PA and enjoyed playing the violin, riding the streetcar and working at her father’s business, the Raymond Hospital. Marcy attended college at Grove City where she met her husband, the late Gust Tsikalas. Shortly after graduating from Grove City College, Marcy and Gust married and settled in Ebensburg PA where they raised their daughters and many beloved pet dogs and cats. Their home hosted many gatherings of family, friends, neighbors and many Tsikalas Family Reunions. Marcy and Gust were long time and active members of First United Church of Christ where Marcy enjoyed playing in the Bell Choir.

Marcy enjoyed classical music, gardening, swimming, reading in the sun, crossword puzzles, watching scary movies and spending time with family. Marcy could often be found yelling at the TV while cheering on her favorite team the Pittsburgh Penguins with a gin & tonic or a Coke in hand and her loyal dog, Shadow, at her side.

Marcy lived life on her own timeline, which made her perpetually late for everything. Marcy retired from the Penn State Cooperative Extension Office after working many years as a secretary. After the passing of her husband, Marcy moved to Lititz PA to be closer to family where she joined the Bell Choir at Highland Presbyterian Church and became an avid Warwick Boys High School Soccer fan.

Marcy spent her final years at Legend of Lititz where she made many friends, participated in many enjoyable activities and received excellent care. Marcy is predeceased by her late husband, Gust D. Tsikalas, Jr.; her parents Malcolm and Marion Raymond; and sisters, Ida Johnson, Pat Balk and Marilyn Cramer; and son-in-law, Andy Richardson.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date for friends and family (she'll probably be late for that as well). In lieu of flowers, donations could be made to the First United Church of Christ in Ebensburg or to any animal rescue organization, both of which held a special place in Marcy’s heart.
