Lewis C. Martin of Millersville, went to be with his Lord and Savior on January 20, 2026, after a brief illness. He lived at St. Anne’s Retirement Community. He was a young 98-year-old! Born in Lancaster, PA, he was the eldest son of Earl B. Martin and Anna Elizabeth Martin. He was married to Anna M. Martin for 71 years until her passing.
Lewis was a veteran who served in the United States Navy. He served on the USS Wisconsin and was very proud of his service. He was a brick and stone mason for most of his life and proudly pointed out the many buildings he helped to build over the years! He was always ready to lend a helping hand. He started the Lancaster Branch of the Hemophilia Foundation along with another parent in support of their sons. He was active in the branch for many years and advocated strongly for the families in Lancaster affected by this disease.
He and Anna were founding members of Westminster Presbyterian Church, where he served as an elder and sang in the Matins Choir. At St. Anne’s he enjoyed participating in social activities where he made a name for himself and was loved by the staff.
Lewis was a wonderful son, husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who loved his family dearly. He worked tirelessly to provide for his family. He was a man who lived by a strong, but quiet faith and led by example in everything he did. Lewis was known for his sense of humor and gift of gab! Those who knew him enjoyed his company. He provided so much joy and laughter over his lifetime. He is lovingly survived by his daughters Lewanne Martin and Jolynn Shenk; two grandchildren, Alyson Shenk and Neal Shenk (Tiffany); five great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife and his son, Dennis Martin.
