Josephine H. Landis, 95, formerly of Lancaster, passed away Thursday, June 3, 2010 at Homewood at Plum Creek. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late A. Vincent and Mary McKinstry Hurst. She was married for 74 years to the late Frank S. Landis.
Josephine was a 1933 graduate of Manheim Twp. High School. A homemaker, she enjoyed gardening and quilting. She was a member of Salem United Church of Christ, Rohrerstown.
She was the mother of David H., husband of Carol Landis of Hanover, and the late Rev. Frank S. Landis, Jr. She is also survived by 4 granddaughters: the Rev. Kathryn L., wife of David Kuhn, Julianne Labbiento, Kelly Landis, and Lisa, wife of Eric Sloan; 6 great-grandchildren; a sister, Anna Mary Toner of Lancaster; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held from the Richard A. Sheetz Funeral Home, 2024 Marietta Ave., Lancaster, on Sunday, June 6, 2010 at 2 PM with interment following in East Petersburg Mennonite Cemetery. Friends may visit from 1 to 2 PM at the funeral home. Kindly omit flowers. Contributions may be made to the Food Bank of one’s choice.
