James "Jim" C. Thorbahn

August 30, 1934 — September 20, 2025

James “Jim” C. Thorbahn, 91, of Lancaster, passed away on September 20, 2025 at Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health. He was the loving husband of Charlotte “Tish” (Feeser) Thorbahn to whom he was married to for 67 years.

After receiving his undergraduate degree, he spent 41 years as a teacher at Edward Hand. In his later years he worked part-time as a boat salesman.

In his spare time, he enjoyed boating, antique cars, was an avid hunter and fisherman, and enjoyed spending time with his adoring family.

Jim was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church in Lancaster, as well as a member of the Lancaster Elks Club, where he served as Exalted Ruler, the Hershey Italian Lodge, Masonic Lodge where he was a 32nd Degree Mason, Conestoga Country Club, Bush River Yacht Club, 8th Ward Club, American Legion, Millersville VFW, Knights of Templar, Lancaster Liederkranz, State Vice President of the Mount Joy Jaycees, Associate Member of the Fraternal Order of Police, and a member of the Schreiners. He also proudly earned his Eagle Scout honors as a young man.

In addition to his wife Tish, he is survived by a daughter, Elizabeth Amico and his son, Jonathan Thorbahn (husband of Wendy). Also surviving are 5 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren and one more “on-the-way.” In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, James C. Thorbahn II.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service at First United Methodist Church, 29 E Walnut St, Lancaster, PA 17602 on Friday, October 3 at 12:00 PM noon. A viewing will be held at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. Burial will be private in Camp Hill Cemetery in Mount Joy. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 1550 Liberty Ridge Dr #250, Wayne, PA 19087.
