Irene M. Bailey

Irene M. Bailey, 83, a resident of Brethren Village, died Monday, October 18, 2010. Born January 4, 1927 in Canton, PA, she was the daughter of the late Herbert L. and Eva McGennis Bailey. Irene retired as a personnel administrator from Franklin and Marshall College in 1986 and was a member of the F&M Retiree’s. She was a member of the First United  Methodist Church in Lancaster, and had volunteered many years with the church food bank. Irene enjoyed volunteering with Hospice of Lancaster County and the Republican Committee of Lancaster County. She was preceded in death by a sister, Frances Kosmer; and by brothers, Donald H. and Galen F. Bailey. She will be greatly missed by the Crill,  Bennett and Klim families. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, October 23, 2010 at 2:30 P.M. at the Kearney  A. Snyder Funeral Home, 141 E. Orange St., Lancaster, PA with the Rev. David M. Myers officiating. Interment in the illersville Mennonite Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Miss Bailey’s memory may be made to the  Food Bank at First United Methodist Church, 29 East Walnut Street, Lancaster, PA 17602 or to the Humane League, 2195 Lincoln Highway East, Lancaster, PA 17602.
