Harry E. Hiltz

Harry E. Hiltz, 91, went home to his Lord and Savior on November 25, 2024 surrounded with love. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Edward F. and Lily A. (Huber) Hiltz. He was the loving husband of the late Janice Mary Singleton Hiltz for 67 years before her death in September, 2022.

A graduate of J.P McCaskey High School, he was a proud veteran of the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He was stationed in Greenland, Korea and Japan. Upon his return to Lancaster, he was a dept. manager at Food Fair, Inc. from where he retired. He also tended bar at many private events and the Eighth Ward Club for many years.

Harry was a lifetime member of the Riverside Club, 8th Ward Club, Red Rose Coin Club and the American Legion Post 34. While his interests included golf, coin collecting and fishing, his main joy in life was traveling and being with his wife and family who always came first.

Surviving are two daughters: Melodie Plantholt and Barbara Marino, 5 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Edward Jr., James P., and Robert Hiltz.

A funeral service will be held on December 3, 2024 at 11:00am at DeBord Snyder Funeral Home & Crematory, 141 E. Orange St., Lancaster, PA 17602. Interment will be immediately afterward at Smithville Church of God. To leave an online condolence for the family please visit: www.DeBordSnyder.com
