Guy T. Thompson, age 85 died on June 29, 2026, at Willow Street, PA. He was the loving husband of Carolyn Grenard Thompson for 64 years. They were married at Wesleyan Chapel near Waynetown, IN.

He was born in Lafayette, IN to the late Raymond and Isabel Thompson. Surviving are his wife and two children: Brenda of Johns Creek, GA and Jeffrey, married to NganHa Luu, of Wilmington, DE.

Guy graduated from Jefferson High School, Lafayette, IN and Purdue University, West Lafayette, IN. He received his MSEsc degree from Penn State University, King of Prussia, PA Campus (now PSU’s Great Valley Campus).

After graduation from Purdue, he began his career in digital electronic design with Philco-Ford Computer Division, Willow Grove, PA. Following 2 years at Philco-Ford, Guy worked for American Electronics Labs for 16 years. While there he was a design engineer on multiple Army Department of Defense programs. He went to work for HRB-Singer, now Raytheon, in State College, PA as staff engineer for DOD programs for the Army, Navy, and Air Force.

While employed at State College, Guy and Carolyn made many pleasurable visits to the Outer Banks, NC. Following retirement, they took several trips to Europe. They toured Great Britain historic locations, visited Constance, Germany and cruised on small river boats on the Danube, Main, Rhein, Mosel, and Elbe rivers to visit historic river cities of many European countries.

Guy and Carolyn moved in August 2017 to Willow Valley Communities, Willow Street, where they made many friends.

Guy was a member of the Congress Street Methodist Church in Lafayette, IN. After graduating from Purdue and moving to Glenside, PA, he joined Glenside United Methodist church with his family, where he led the Commission on Missions, served on the Council of Ministries, and was recording secretary of the Finance Committee. At State College, he joined State College Presbyterian Church where he served as a Visiting Deacon and provided support for the Adult Education Committee. He is currently a member of the Highland Presbyterian Church in Lancaster, PA.

Guy will be interred at the Waynetown Masonic Cemetery in Indiana, at a later date.
