Gladys M. Dommel

Gladys M. Dommel, 94, of Luther Acres in Lititz, PA, entered into rest on Wednesday May 5th, 2010. Born on February 21, 1916 in Lancaster, PA, she was the daughter of the late Adam and Cecelia Aukamp Pleger. She would have been married to Paul W. Dommel for 68 years on June 23, 2002. Mr. Dommel passed away April 26, 2002.

She was a graduate of Stevens School for Girls, a retiree of Kerr Glass Company and a member of Faith United Church of Christ in Lancaster.

Surviving is a daughter, Audrey wife of Raymond H. Witmer of Lancaster; two grandchildren, Kimberly wife of Douglas Finkbiner and Barry husband of Lois Witmer; four great grandchildren, Kelly and Sean Finkbiner; Ryan and Kyle Witmer; and a brother John H. husband of Mary (Tshudy) Pleger of Lancaster. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Harry and Charles Pleger; two sisters, Janet Souders and Helen Kittinger. Gladys’ family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Leon Kraybill and Luther Acres staff for the compassionate care they extended to Gladys and the support offered to family members.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a funeral service from Faith United Church of Christ, 1204 Wabank Rd., Lancaster, PA on Monday, May 10th at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor John C. Rieker officiating. Friends may call at Faith U.C.C. on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will be in Riverview Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be sent to Luthercare, 600 E. Main St., Lititz, PA 17543.
