Geraldine "Gerry" V. Bernhardt

Geraldine “Gerry” V. Bernhardt, 88, of Lancaster, passed away on April 2, 2024 at  Abbeyville Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born in Lancaster, PA she was the daughter of the late George and Mary (Donahue) Swinehart.

Gerry spent much of her professional career as a housekeeper for the former Lancaster General Hospital. In her spare time, she enjoyed collecting knickknacks and traveling. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in Lancaster.  

Gerry is survived by her son, Gerald L. McCracken (husband of Desiree) of Strasburg; grandchildren, Jason McCracken (husband of Mandy) and Justin McCracken (husband of Jeslyn); step-grandchildren, Jason Martin (husband of Angie) and Troy Martin; great-granddaughters, Madison McCracken and Millie McCracken,  step great-grandchildren, Nikki, Corey, Josh and Codie Martin and step-great-great-grandchildren, Greyson Skaggs, Mia Rose and Macie James Oberholtzer.   In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by brothers, George and Robert Swinehart, a half-brother, Kenny Swinehart and step-sisters, Helen Wiggins and Pauline Lively.
