George M. Wargo, 90, of Lancaster, passed away on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at Penn Medicine Lancaster General Health. He was the loving husband of Emma (Puca) Wargo.
Born in Edison, NJ, he was the son of the late Michale and Anna (Cafel) Wargo.
After graduating from High School, George proudly served in the United States Army.
George was an avid Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies fan and spent much of his free time cheering for those teams and spending time with his adoring family.
In addition to his wife, Emma, George is survived by his son, Matthew Wargo (husband of Marlene); a daughter, Geraldine Weaver (wife of Eric); six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Gerard Wargo.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at St. Leo The Great Catholic Church, 2427 Marietta Ave, Lancaster, PA 17601 on Thursday, January 25, 2024 at 11:00 AM. A viewing will be held at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of mass. Interment will follow in St. Joseph New Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
