George D. Eisenberger
George D. Eisenberger, Sr., 85, formerly of Drexel Ave., Lancaster, was called from his residence at Landis Homes to his eternal home on Monday, April 18, 2011.
He was the husband of the late Esther H. Thomas Eisenberger who died in 2003. Born December 9, 1925 in Paradise Twp., he was the son of the late Clarence and Mabel Hassel Eisenberger.
George was a lifetime farmer and hay and straw dealer. He enjoyed vegetable gardening, hunting and fishing. He was a member of the Neffsville Mennonite Church.
Surviving are two sons, George husband of Marian Eberly Eisenberger, of Willow Street, and James husband of Carol Zimmerman Eisenberger of New Providence; three daughters, Joyce wife of Donald Deiter of Lancaster, Judy wife of Linford Burkhart of Willow Street, and Janice wife of Leslie Kreider of Leola; a son-in-law, Elias Betancourt of Lititz; 16 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Betancourt; by a brother, Ben Eisenberger, and by sisters, Miriam Charles, Reba Stauffer and Martha Shirk.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, April 22, 2011 at 7:00 P.M. at the WEST BETHANY Chapel at Landis Homes, 1001 E. Oregon Road, Lititz, PA with Pastor Jim Leaman officiating. Friends may call at the EAST BETHANY Chapel at Landis Homes on Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. There will be no viewing on Friday evening; however, the family will greet friends following the service. Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family in Mellinger Mennonite Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mr. Eisenberger’s memory may be made to Hospice of Lancaster County, 685 Good Drive, P.O.
