Fredonna Dale Branstetter

Fredonna (Donnie) Dale (Holcomb) Branstetter passed away September 22, 2025 after a long battle with cancer. She was born April 26, 1940 to Warren Holcomb and Betty Jane Woldren in Belpre, OH. She graduated as the Valedictorian of the Bartlett High School class of 1958. Following graduation, Donnie attended George Washington University where she met her future husband, Mark. While in Washington, DC, she worked in the Library of Congress and on the staff of New York Senator Jacob Javits. Mark and Donnie were married in the Washington, DC area in 1961 and moved to New Holland, PA in 1963. They later settled in Lancaster, where they raised their sons, David and Matthew.

Donnie worked part-time at Lancaster Office Supply and Equipment before becoming an Outside Sales Representative for The Office Works in 1980. She was a long-time member of Grandview Heights Community United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir, was a member of the Dorcas-Lydia Circle, and served on various church committees. She also went on mission trips to West Virginia, Trinidad and Tobago, twice to Barbados, and twice to Grenada. Donnie was a voracious reader, an avid gardener, and regularly attended productions at the Fulton Opera House.

Donnie was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Mark, and her son, Matthew. She is survived by her son David, and his wife, Tena, of Waldorf, MD; grandchildren, Zachary Branstetter and his wife, Stephanie, of Cameron, NC; Kate Allen and her husband, Andrew, of Kansas City, MO; and Evan and Lea Branstetter of Lancaster; and five great-grandchildren: Briar, Ivy, Emberlee, and Brooks Branstetter, of Cameron, NC, and Marcus Allen of Kansas City, MO. She is also survived by several cousins and nieces. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
