Faber W. “Pete” Stevenson

In Memorial

Faber W. “Pete” Stevenson, 76, passed away at Landis Homes on Wednesday, January 14, 2009.

Pete was married 53 years to Mary Lou Queale Stevenson. Born in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Clarence F. and Nora French Stevenson.

Pete’s career in the insurance business started with the Insurance Company of America and he then worked for the Great American Insurance Company. He and his family moved to Lancaster in 1971 where he was employed by Teachers Protective Mutual Insurance Co., retiring as C.E.O in 1995.

Mr. Stevenson served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Grandview United Methodist Church.

Surviving besides his wife is a daughter, Karen L. wife of Paul Oxholm of Wyomissing; three sons, Jay R. husband of Suzanne Stevenson of West Chester, Paul J. husband of Julie Stevenson of Hanover, and Todd F. husband of Suzanne Stevenson of Lancaster; a sister, Ann Cook of Portland, TX; and six grandchildren, Josh, Jaimee, Margee, Sarah, Catherine and Cole.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at Grandview United Methodist Church, 888 Pleasure Road, Lancaster, PA with the Rev. Andrea Brown officiating. Friends may greet the family following the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mr. Stevenson’s memory may be made to Landis Homes Caring Fund, 1001 E. Oregon Road, Lititz, PA 17543 or to Grandview United Methodist Church, 888 Pleasure Road, Lancaster, PA 17601.
