Evelyn M. Christman, 92, of Lancaster, passed away peacefully at Landis Homes Retirement Community on Sunday, October 3, 2010.  Born December 6, 1917 in Berks County, she was the daughter of the late Thomas LeRoy and Mary Lydia (Seidel) Leinbach. She was the

wife of the late Earl Kline Christman who passed away on December 14, 1981. A graduate of Kutztown State Teachers College, Evelyn taught third grade in Muhlenberg Township School District for three years. Following her marriage in 1944, she moved to Lancaster where her life centered on her family,  friends and an active membership in St. Andrew U.C.C.  Evelyn was a very special person

who brought a sweet smile and helping hands to everyone who knew her. She was much loved by her husband,  children, grandchildren, family and friends.  Evelyn was blessed with a joyful and graceful heart. She delighted in the beauty of children, flowers, skies and music.  Surviving are her daughters, Lois E., wife of Paul R. Geist, and Linda S. Christman; 2 grandchildren, Andrew P. Geist and his wife Jennifer, and Elizabeth A., wife of Brian J. Cerullo; 4 great grandchildren, Ryan and Nathan Geist and Mia and Emma Cerullo; and 2 sisters, LaJune McDonough and Fern Slater. In addition to her husband and parents, she is predeceased by her brother, Thomas Leinbach,  her sisters, Mary Schilling and Olivia Lapp, and great-grandson, Joseph Gabriel Cerullo. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a funeral from St. Andrew United Church of Christ, 701 N. Lime St., Lancaster, PA on Thursday, October 7th, at 11:00 a.m. Friends may call at St. Andrew U.C.C. on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Private interment will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Andrew U.C.C., 701 N. Lime St., Lancaster, PA 17602 or Landis Homes Caring Fund, 1001 E. Oregon Rd., Lititz, PA 17543. Arrangements by Kearney A. Snyder Funeral Home, 394-4097.
