Eugene Frederick Resh, Jr.

In Memorial

Eugene Frederick Resh, Jr., 83, of Lancaster, passed away, Thursday, Mar. 12, 2009 at Hospice of Lancaster County, Mt. Joy. Born in Lancaster, he was the son of the late Eugene F. Sr., and Elizabeth M. Baker Resh. He was married for 32 years to Carol Ann High Resh.

Eugene worked for 33 years for Alcoa in security. During WWII, he served in the U. S. Coast Guard. He was a member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church, Lancaster. He was also a member of the American Legion, VFW, Artisans, and the Alcoa 25 Year Club.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by: a son, Eugene F. Resh, III; 3 daughters, Julie Ann Resh, Leeann wife of Jeffrey Haas of Willow Street, Heather wife of Kenneth Hess of Lampeter; a step-son, Robert K. husband of Anita Keys of Leola; step-daughter, Stacey L. wife of Ted Moyer of Lancaster; 5 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; a sister, Patricia wife of William Douts of Glenmoore; a brother, Francis G. Resh of Woodbury, NJ; assorted nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, William H. and Patrick A. Resh, and a sister, Elizabeth Brady.

A mass of Christian burial will be held from the St. Anne’s Catholic Church, N. Duke and Liberty Sts, Lancaster on Tuesday at 10 AM with the Rev. Norman C. Hohenwarter as Celebrant. Final Commendation and Farewell in Conestoga Memorial Park. Friends may call on Monday from 7 to 9 PM at the Kearney A. Snyder Funeral Home 141 E. Orange St. Lancaster. A Rosary service will take place on Monday at 8:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of Lancaster County P.O. Box 4125 Lancaster, PA 17604-4125.
