Elizabeth G. McKelvey

Elizabeth G. McKelvey, 101, a resident of Lakeside at Willow Valley, died Friday, May 21, 2010.
She was the wife of the late Thomas J. McKelvey who died in 1969. Born February 13, 1909 in Englewood, NJ she was the daughter of the late Charles S. and Anna M. Van Saun Whitney.
Mrs. McKelvey was an actuary who was employed by the Insurance Co. of North American and then later by the Pennsylvania State Insurance Department. She was a member of the Willow Street United Church of Christ. Elizabeth liked to play bridge and earlier in life had enjoyed riding horses.
Surviving are three sons, Thomas J. McKelvey, Jr. of Hawthorne, CA, John W. husband of Kathy McKelvey of Mount Joy, and Robert G. husband of Janice McKelvey of Lanoka Harbor, NJ. Also surviving are five grandchildren and three great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister Gertrude Simpson.
Services and interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to the Salvation Army, 131 South Queen St., Lancaster, PA 17602.
