Elizabeth L. Gibney, 102, of Greensboro, NC, formerly of Lancaster, died Saturday, Jan. 10, 2009. Born in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary Yuninger Munson. She was the wife of the late Delmar Gibney in 1988, and the late Harold Landis.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Greensboro, NC, where she was a member of the Agape Sunday School Class, and the former St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church, Lancaster. She was also a member of the Community Service Group in Greensboro.
She is survived by: Gloria wife of William D. Ditzler of Greensboro, NC; 2 granddaughters, Debra Ann Ditzler of Greensboro, NC, and Amy D. wife of Scott Spradlin of Sandston, VA; a stepdaughter, Patricia wife of Elsworth Kepner of Lancaster; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by seven siblings, John, Harry, Horace, Munson, Alta Haubert, Katherine Welk, Clara Sheaffer; and a step-daughter, Gloria Hershey.
A graveside service will be held from Longenecker’s Reformed Mennonite Cemetery Strasburg Pike Strasburg, at 2 PM on Saturday, March 28, 2009.
