Edith Mae Miller
Edith Mae Miller, 78, of Lancaster, passed away on Monday, February 28, 2011 at home.
Born November 13, 1932 in Lancaster, she was the daughter of the late Aldus and Leota Coble Kreider.
Edith retired from Kemp Foods in 1997 where she had been employed in the purchasing department. She also worked as a marshall at Overlook Golf Course.
She was a graduate of the former West Lampeter High School. Edith was an avid golfer and bowler and loved to bake and work in her yard. She was the happiest when spending time with family and friends, and her grandchildren always held a special place in her heart.
Surviving is a son, Dale P. husband of Diane Miller of Denver, CO; a daughter, Wendy E. Valle of Mountville; three grandchildren, Kim Miller, Kacie Miller and Alex Valle; five sisters, Earla wife of Ronald Deiter of Lancaster, Frances wife of John Gamber of New Providence, Patricia wife of F. Abram Rhoads of Strasburg, Viola wife of Clifford Herr of Willow Street, and Geneva Bleacher of Lancaster; three brothers, Mervin husband of Janet Kreider of Conestoga, E. Glenn Kreider of Manheim, and Aldus husband of Marion Kreider of Lancaster. She was preceded by sisters, Rosalie Smith and Janeth Wissler, and by brothers, Nelson Kreider and Preston Kreider.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, March 4, 2011 at 11:30 A.M. at the Kearney A. Snyder Funeral Home, 141 E. Orange St., Lancaster, PA. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of the service. Interment will be private and held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Edith’s memory may be made to the American Heart Association, 610 Community Way, Lancaster, PA 17603.
