Earl Frey Endress

Earl Frey Endress, formerly of 318 Hawthorn Drive, died Monday at Harrison House, Christiana, following a long illness. He was 90.

Mr. Endress was the husband of the late Dorothy Mumma Endress, his wife of 64 years. They were married during WWII, in which he had served as a 1st class carpenter’s mate aboard the USS Hannibal.

Mr. Endress was retired from Hamilton Technology where he had been employed as a carpenter for most of his working life.

A dedicated husband and father, Mr. Endress enjoyed trout fishing and pheasant hunting. He took pleasure in raising tomatoes, asparagus and strawberries, which he shared with his extended family. He was a lifelong Phillies fan and watched most games. He loved his country and was proud of his service during WWII.

Mr. Endress was a member of Zion Church, Millersville, whose members and pastor provided loving support throughout his later years. He was also a 32nd degree member of the Free and Accepted Masons, an organization to which he belonged for 50 years.

Born in Phillipsburg, N.J. he was the son of the late George and Emma Endress. Surviving him are son John, daughter-in-law Michele, and grandson Daniel, all of Stone Mountain, Ga. Also surviving are a sister, Gladys Endress of Easton, two nieces, and a nephew.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend a funeral at Zion Church of Millersville, 317 N. George St., Millersville, on Thursday, June 10th, at 7 p.m. Friends may call at the church on Thursday from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Interment will take place in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Ephrata, on Friday, June 11th, at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be sent to Zion Church of Millersville, 317 N. George St., Millersville, PA 17551.
